Hi! I'm Alex Gavrilescu. I like building reliable, low-latency online gaming platforms serving millions of players. I've spent 14 years in backend/web (lots of .NET + Kubernetes), and the last few years mixing in practical AI.
I care about performance, readable code, and developer experience. I enjoy pairing, sketching systems, and shipping small, frequent changes. I'm currently building Backlog.md, a markdown-native Kanban + AI agents toolkit for Git repos, now past 6,000 GitHub stars and 20,000 npm downloads a month.
Away from work I help run the 3,100+ member Vienna AI Engineering Meetup and host Codex meetups as an OpenAI Codex Ambassador. Lately I've been giving talks and workshops on AI-assisted development, including at Devoxx Belgium and the AI Engineer Code Summit.
